K. Eric Drexler
K. Eric Drexler, born Kim Eric Drexler, is an American engineer and scientist widely recognized as the 'godfather of nanotechnology' for introducing molecular nanotechnology (MNT) and pioneering its theoretical development in the 1970s and 1980s. He founded the Foresight Institute to promote public understanding of nanotechnology and authored influential books such as 'Engines of Creation' and 'Nanosystems: Molecular Machinery, Manufacturing, and Computation'.
