Juliette de Bairacli Levy

Juliette de Bairacli Levy (1912–2009) was an English herbalist, author, and pioneer of holistic veterinary medicine, renowned for her work with animals using natural remedies learned from Romani people, peasants, and indigenous communities across Europe, Turkey, North Africa, Israel, and Greece. Born into a wealthy family in Manchester, she studied veterinary medicine briefly before traveling the world, running herbal clinics, breeding Afghan hounds, and authoring influential books like Herbal Handbook for the Dog and Herbal Handbook for Farm and Stable. She successfully treated epidemics like distemper in dogs through dietary changes and herbs, and lived nomadically, earning the moniker 'Juliette of the Herbs.'
