Julie Ellis
Julie Ellis (also known as Joan Ellis) was an American author born in Columbus, Georgia, in 1933, who began her career as an actress in New York's Off-Broadway scene before transitioning to writing after having two children. She authored around 150 books under numerous pseudonyms, including lesbian pulp fiction for Midwood Books in the 1960s and later historical romance novels, often insisting on positive endings for her lesbian characters despite not being a lesbian herself. She died in February 2006.
