Judith Rossner

Judith Rossner (1935–2005) was an American novelist best known for her bestsellers Looking for Mr. Goodbar (1975), which explored the perils of urban promiscuity, and August (1983), a novel about psychoanalysis. Born Judith Louise Perelman in New York City to a Jewish family and raised in the Bronx, she debuted with To the Precipice in 1966 and often examined women's relationships, dependency, and moral dilemmas in contemporary settings.
