Jr. Sam R. Telford

Dr. Samuel R. Telford, Jr. (1932–2021) was a renowned parasitologist and herpetologist known for his work on vector-borne diseases. He served as a Professor of Infectious Diseases and Global Health at Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, specializing in the ecology and epidemiology of tick-transmitted infections like Lyme disease, Babesiosis, and Borrelia miyamotoi. Early in his career, he contributed to the development of the only approved human vaccine for Lyme disease and held a Doctor of Science from Harvard School of Public Health.
