Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu was an Irish writer of Gothic tales, ghost stories, and mystery novels, widely regarded as one of the major Victorian masters of supernatural fiction. His work, including "Carmilla" and "Uncle Silas," helped shape the modern ghost story and horror genre.
