Joseph Alexiou

Joseph Alexiou is a journalist and licensed New York City tour guide who authored Gowanus: Brooklyn's Curious Canal, published in October 2015 by NYU Press.[1] His freelance writing has appeared in the New York Times, Gothamist, Politico, and other major publications, and he previously served as an associate features editor at Time Out New York and Out Magazine.[1] He lives in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, and draws from archives and personal interviews to document the history and culture of New York City neighborhoods.[3]
