Jory Sherman
Jory Sherman (Cort Martin) began his literary career as a poet in San Francisco's North Beach during the late 1950s Beat Generation era[1]. He became a prolific full-time writer for over forty years, publishing more than 300-450 books across poetry, westerns, and other genres[3][7]. He received the Owen Wister Award in 2013 from Western Writers of America for lifetime achievement in western literature, and was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for his novel Grass Kingdom[1].
