Jonathan Turk

Dr. Jon Turk, also known as Jonathan Turk, is a scientist, author, and National Geographic award-winning explorer with a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Colorado (1971). He co-authored the first college-level environmental science textbook in North America and over 35 additional texts, while undertaking groundbreaking expeditions such as kayaking around Cape Horn, across the North Pacific from Japan to Alaska, and circumnavigating Ellesmere Island. His adventure books, including 'Cold Oceans,' 'The Raven’s Gift,' and 'Tracking Lions, Myth, and Wilderness in Samburu,' blend science, philosophy, and indigenous wisdom.
