Jonathan Stroud (Author)
Jonathan Anthony Stroud is a British fantasy author best known for the Bartimaeus young adult sequence and the Lockwood & Co. children's series, noted for their satire and exploration of class struggle through magic.[1][5] Born in Bedford, England, on 27 October 1970, he grew up in St Albans, studied English Literature at the University of York, and worked as a children's book editor at Walker Books and Kingfisher before becoming a full-time writer with his debut novel Buried Fire in 1999.[2][3][7] He lives in St Albans with his wife Gina, an illustrator, and their two children.[6][7]
