John White

John White (1924–2002) was an evangelical Christian author, psychiatrist, medical missionary, and international speaker who published over 25 books through InterVarsity Press, including Daring to Draw Near and The Masks of Melancholy. Born in Liverpool, England, and raised in Manchester, he served in World War II, trained as a doctor at Manchester University, worked with the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students in Latin America, and later became a professor of psychiatry at the University of Manitoba and a church planter in the Vineyard movement. He lectured worldwide at churches and conferences until his death from Alzheimer's and heart disease in Vancouver, Canada.[1][2][6]
