John W. Moore

John W. Moore (1833–1906) was a historian, author, lawyer, and Confederate officer from Hertford County, North Carolina. He served in the 2nd Regiment of North Carolina Cavalry during the Civil War and later commanded the 3rd North Carolina Battalion, while also compiling a groundbreaking roster of North Carolina troops.
