John R Erickson
John Richard Erickson is an American cowboy and author born on October 20, 1943, best known for his bestselling Hank the Cowdog series of children's novels. He has written and published over 75 books and more than 600 articles, with his works translated into multiple languages and winning numerous awards including the Audie, Oppenheimer, Wrangler, and Lamplighter Awards. Erickson drew upon his experience as a ranch hand and his Harvard education to create stories that blend his knowledge of ranching life with engaging narratives for children.
