John Pope-Hennessy

Sir John Wyndham Pope-Hennessy was a British art historian and museum director, best known for his scholarship on Italian Renaissance art. He led the Victoria and Albert Museum and the British Museum, and later headed the European painting department at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.[1][7]
