John Parish Robertson

John Parish Robertson (1792–1843) was a Scottish merchant and author who became one of the first British traders in post-revolutionary Paraguay, alongside his brother William. He built a trading empire across South America but lost his fortune in the 1825–1826 financial crash, turning to writing sensational accounts of dictator Dr. José Gaspar Rodríguez de Francia that shaped European views of Paraguay.[1][2][3]
