John Nelson
John Nelson is a Professor of East Asian religions at the University of San Francisco specializing in contemporary Japanese Buddhism and Shinto. He earned his PhD and has authored multiple books including 'Experimental Buddhism: Innovation and Activism in Contemporary Japan' (2013), which co-won the 2014 Numata Prize, along with works on Shinto in contemporary Japan and documentary videos on Japanese religious practices.
