John Moore
John Cecil Moore (1907-1967) was a British writer and conservationist described by Sir Compton Mackenzie as the most talented writer about the countryside of his generation. He is best known for his post-World War II trilogy consisting of Portrait of Elmbury, Brensham Village, and The Blue Field, and authored over 40 published works exploring rural life in early 20th century England.
