John Martin Vincent (1857-1939) was an American historian and political scientist born in Elyria, Ohio. He served as Professor of European history at Johns Hopkins University from 1889 until his retirement in 1925, authoring works such as 'Historical Research: An Outline of Theory and Practice' (1911).[1][2][3][4]
