John Jeremiah Sullivan

John Jeremiah Sullivan (born 1974) is an American writer, editor, and teacher based in Wilmington, North Carolina, known for his essays in The New York Times Magazine, Harper's Magazine, and The Paris Review. He is the author of the memoir Blood Horses: Notes of a Sportswriter's Son (2004) and the essay collection Pulphead (2011), which won a Whiting Award and was named one of Time's best books of 2011. Sullivan is also the co-founder of the non-profit Third Person Project, dedicated to uncovering the South's buried history.
