John Hartley

John Hartley (19 October 1839–1917) was an English poet who wrote extensively in the Yorkshire dialect, often addressing the poverty and sentimental life of the Halifax district. He is best known as the writer and editor of the long-running Clock Almanack, a yearly collection of poems and prose published from 1867 until his death.
