John Harlin

John Harlin III is an American climber, writer, and editor known for his memoir *The Eiger Obsession: Facing the Mountain That Killed My Father* (2007), which explores his family history and his own eventual climb of the Eiger. He has also worked as an adventure writer and media editor, with much of his work shaped by mountaineering, exploration, and the legacy of his father, climber John Harlin II.
