John Freely
John Freely was an American physicist, teacher, historian, and author known for popular books on Istanbul, Athens, Venice, Turkey, Greece, and the Ottoman Empire. He taught physics for many years at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul and wrote more than 40 books, combining science, history, and travel writing.[1][2][7]
