John Eleuthère du Pont
John Eleuthère du Pont (1938–2010) was an American heir to the du Pont family fortune, known as a philanthropist, ornithologist, philatelist, conchologist, and sports enthusiast who founded the Delaware Museum of Natural History in 1972 and supported USA Wrestling by establishing a training facility at his Foxcatcher Farm.[1][2] In 1996, he murdered Olympic wrestler Dave Schultz and was convicted of third-degree murder, deemed mentally ill, and sentenced to 13–30 years in prison, where he died in 2010.[1][3]
