John Edgar Wideman
John Edgar Wideman (born June 14, 1941) is an acclaimed American novelist, short story writer, memoirist, and essayist known for his experimental techniques and focus on the African-American experience. He is the first author to win the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction twice, for the novels Sent for You Yesterday and Philadelphia Fire, and has received a MacArthur Fellowship for his literary work.
