John E. Williams

John Edward Williams was an American author, editor, and professor best known for his novels "Butcher's Crossing," "Stoner," and "Augustus," the last of which won the U.S. National Book Award.[1] He was born in Clarksville, Texas, in 1922, and later taught at the University of Denver before becoming more widely recognized for his fiction after his death.[1][2]
