John Donne
John Donne (1572–1631) was a leading English poet of the Metaphysical school, renowned as the greatest love poet in the English language and celebrated for his religious verse and sermons[2]. Born into a Roman Catholic family in London, he later converted to Anglicanism and became a cleric, serving as Dean of St. Paul's Cathedral from 1621 until his death[2][3].
