John Creasey
John Creasey (1908-1973) was a prolific English author best known for detective and crime novels, writing over 550 books under 28 pseudonyms that sold millions worldwide.[1][3] Born the seventh of nine children in a working-class family, he overcame polio, 743 publisher rejections, and wrote at an astonishing rate, sometimes two novels a week, after his first success in 1932.[1][2] He received an MBE for wartime services and an Edgar Award in 1962.[2][3]
