John Candy

John Candy was a Canadian actor and comedian who rose to fame through the Second City comedy troupe and SCTV in the 1970s, earning Emmy Awards for writing. He became a Hollywood star with films like Splash (1984), Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987), Uncle Buck (1989), and Home Alone (1990), known for his roly-poly good nature and improvisation. Candy died of a heart attack at age 43 while filming in Mexico.
