John Burnham Schwartz

John Burnham Schwartz is an American author best known for his bestselling novels Reservation Road (1998), The Commoner (2008), and The Red Daughter (2019), which have been translated into twenty languages.[1][2] Born and raised in New York City, he majored in Japanese studies at Harvard, played on the varsity squash team, and published his debut novel Bicycle Days in 1989 at age 24 after declining a Wall Street job.[1] He has also worked extensively in screenwriting, including HBO's The Wizard of Lies, for which he received a Writers Guild nomination, and serves as Literary Director of the Sun Valley Writers’ Conference.[1][2]
