John Berger
John Peter Berger (1926–2017) was an English art critic, novelist, painter, and poet best known for his Booker Prize-winning novel *G.* and his culturally influential essay *Ways of Seeing*. He lived in France for over fifty years and is celebrated for his Marxist perspectives on art, politics, and the 'male gaze.'
