Johanna Hurwitz
Johanna Hurwitz is an American author of more than sixty children's books, including chapter books for beginning readers and middle graders featuring endearing protagonists facing childhood challenges, as well as biographies of figures like Anne Frank and Helen Keller.[1][2] A former children's librarian with positions at the New York Public Library and others, she graduated from Queens College with a B.A. in English in 1958 and from Columbia University with an M.L.S. in 1959.[1][2] Her books have sold millions of copies in many languages, and she continues to write, with over seventy titles to her credit.[5][8]
