Joan Ackermann

Joan Ackermann is a playwright, journalist, and theater director originally from Cambridge, Massachusetts, now residing in the Berkshires where she co-founded and serves as co-artistic director of Mixed Company, a year-round theater in Great Barrington operating for over 36 years.[1][2][3][5] She has written more than 20 plays, including one adapted into the film 'Off the Map' starring Sam Elliott and Joan Allen, contributed to publications like Sports Illustrated, Time, The New Yorker, and The Atlantic, authored the young adult novel 'In The Space Left Behind' published by Harper Collins in 2007, and worked as a head writer on HBO's 'Arli$$'.[3][4]
