JK Rowling
J.K. Rowling (born Joanne Rowling) is a British author best known for creating the Harry Potter series, a seven-book fantasy saga about a young wizard. She conceived the idea for Harry Potter in 1990 while working at Amnesty International and published the first novel, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, in 1997. Beyond Harry Potter, she has written adult fiction including The Casual Vacancy and the Cormoran Strike crime series under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith.
