Jim Crumley

James Arthur Crumley was an American writer of violent mystery novels born in Three Rivers, Texas, known for his vivid characterizations and sordid settings amid the natural splendor of the western United States. After serving in the U.S. Army and earning degrees in history and creative writing, he joined the English faculty at the University of Montana and wrote detective novels featuring protagonists Milo Milodragovich and C.W. Sughrue set in the fictional mountain city of Meriwether, Montana.
