Jill Ciment
Jill Ciment is an American author born in Montreal, Canada, known for her novels including The Law of Falling Bodies, Teeth of the Dog, The Tattoo Artist, Heroic Measures, Act of God, and The Body in Question, as well as memoirs Half a Life and Consent, and the short story collection Small Claims.[1][2][3] She has received numerous awards such as a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and the Janet Heidinger Kafka Prize, and serves as a professor emeritus at the University of Florida.[1][2][3][6] Ciment lives in Gainesville, Florida, and New York City, and was married to artist Arnold Mesches until his death in 2016.[1][2][4]
