Jerry Thomas
Jeremiah P. 'Jerry' Thomas (1830–1885) was an American bartender known as 'the father of American mixology' for pioneering the popularization of cocktails across the United States. Nicknamed 'Professor' Jerry Thomas, he authored the seminal 1862 work *How to Mix Drinks, or The Bon-Vivant's Companion*, the first cocktail recipe book published in America.
