Jerry Bledsoe
Jerry Bledsoe was an American author and journalist renowned for his true crime books, particularly *Bitter Blood*, a #1 New York Times bestseller about a North Carolina family murder that was adapted into a miniseries.[1][2] Born in Danville, Virginia, he grew up in Thomasville, North Carolina, served in the army, and worked as a newspaper columnist in Greensboro and Charlotte before transitioning to book writing, producing over 20 works including humorous essays and memoirs.[1][3] He founded Down Home Press and lived near Asheboro, North Carolina, with his wife Linda until his death on December 31, 2025, at age 84.[1][3]
