Jedidiah 1761-1826 Morse

Jedidiah Morse (1761-1826) was an American geographer, Congregational minister, and author known as the 'father of American geography' for his pioneering textbooks like *Geography Made Easy* (1784) and *The American Gazetteer* (1797), which dominated U.S. geographical education.[1][2][3] Educated at Yale, he served as a pastor in Charlestown, Massachusetts, championed orthodox Calvinism, and later studied Native American tribes, publishing a key report in 1822.[1][2] He was the father of inventor Samuel F.B. Morse.[3]
