Jeanne Duprau

Jeanne DuPrau is an American author best known for her young adult science fiction series The Books of Ember, beginning with The City of Ember. She has worked as a high school English teacher, editor, and technical writer, and holds a BA in English Literature from Scripps College. She lives in Menlo Park, California, where she enjoys gardening, birdwatching, and keeping a small dog.
