Jean Watts

Jean Watts, born Myrtle Eugenia Lawson, was a Canadian journalist who served as a foreign correspondent for the Communist Party of Canada's Daily Clarion during the Spanish Civil War from February 1937 to May 1938. At age 27, she was assigned to the Blood Transfusion Institute in Spain as a public relations person and wrote reportage combining wartime discomfort with the anti-fascist struggle. She is also known as the author of books including In Search of Perspective.
