Jean Jaures

Jean Jaurès was a prominent French socialist leader, pacifist, and philosopher who served in the Chamber of Deputies and co-founded the newspaper L'Humanité. He is renowned for his efforts to unify socialist factions and his staunch opposition to World War I, which led to his assassination by a nationalist fanatic in 1914.
