Jean-Charles de Hemptinne

Jean-Charles de Hemptinne is a chemical engineer and researcher specializing in thermodynamics for petroleum engineering and biofuels. He graduated from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in 1985, earned a PhD from MIT, and joined IFP Energies nouvelles in 1991, where he has served as a professor and chair holder for initiatives like the Tuck foundation Chair on Thermodynamics for biofuels (2010-2019) and the AFI EleTher chair. He is author or co-author of 92 refereed publications, 3 patents, and the handbook 'How to select a thermodynamic model for process simulation.'
