Jasper Van Der Steen
Jasper van der Steen is a Dutch historian and Assistant Professor at the Institute for History at Leiden University, where he has been employed since 2022 after serving as a post-doc starting in February 2018. He earned his PhD from Leiden University in 2014 and an MA from the University of Durham in 2009, specializing in early modern European history, particularly the internal organization and power strategies of the Nassau dynasty from 1550 to 1815. His research explores dynastic family structures, continuity, and power expansion through legal instruments like marriage contracts and house laws.
