Janice Helland

Janice Helland is a Professor Emerita at Queen's University, Canada, specializing in the late 19th-century arts and crafts movement in Britain and Ireland, with a focus on production and women artists.[1][3] She authored key works such as *Professional Women Painters in Nineteenth-Century Scotland: Commitment, Friendship, Pleasure* (2000) and co-edited *Local/Global: Women Artists in the Nineteenth Century*.[2][6][7] Her research examines the careers, exhibition records, and contributions of professional women painters and decorative artists in Scotland and beyond.[2][5]
