Janet Riehecky
Janet Riehecky is an American children's author born in 1953 in Waukegan, Illinois, who has published over 126 books for children ranging from preschool picture books to junior high biographies.[1][3][5] She is best known for her Dinosaurs! series, which won the Summit Award for Best Children's Nonfiction in 1989, and has written extensively in both nonfiction and fiction genres, including a mystery series called the Red Door Detective Club.[1][3][5] From 1998 to 2004, she served as the National Director of Mystery Writers of America's literacy program, Kids Love A Mystery.[3]
