Janel E. Benson

Janel E. Benson is a professor of sociology at Colgate University whose research focuses on inequality in higher education, the transition to adulthood, and the experiences of first-generation college students. Her work uses qualitative and quantitative methods to study how early-life contexts shape mobility, identity, and health, and she co-authored the book *Geographies of Campus Inequality*.
