Jane Goodall
Dame Jane Goodall (1934–2025) was a pioneering British primatologist and anthropologist renowned for her over six decades of field research on wild chimpanzees in Gombe Stream National Park, Tanzania, where she made groundbreaking discoveries about their tool use, omnivorous diet, and complex social behaviors.[1][3] She founded the Jane Goodall Institute in 1977 to support conservation efforts and established the Roots & Shoots youth program in 1991.[1][3] Goodall continued advocating for animal welfare and environmental preservation globally until her death at age 91.[1][2]
