Jane A Adams
Jane Addams (1860-1935) was an American social reformer, settlement activist, and pacifist who co-founded Hull House in Chicago in 1889, one of America's first settlement houses providing social services to poor immigrant families. She was a leader in social work, women's suffrage, and peace activism, becoming the first American woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize in 1931.
