James Welch

James Welch (1940–2003) was a Native American novelist and poet known for works centered on Blackfeet and Gros Ventre life in Montana. He is widely regarded as a founding figure of the Native American Renaissance, with notable books including "Winter in the Blood" and "Fools Crow."
