James Thomas Flexner

James Thomas Flexner (1908–2003) was an American historian, biographer, and writer best known for his four-volume biography of George Washington, which earned him a special Pulitzer Prize citation and a National Book Award for the final volume. He also wrote extensively on American art history and produced more than two dozen books over his career.
